What The Islaam Says on the Celebration of Non-Muslim Events
It's a shame to see our youth rejoicing in the celebrations of  immoral events like New Year, Valentine's Day etc. Some might say, "What's the harm?", or maybe even consider it customary just because their young and feel like it's their time and right to flirt on Valentine (ASTAGHFIRRULLAH) or have some fun in New Year celebrations . Still others might take up the defensive approach by saying that it's alright to celebrate Valentine as long as you use this day to express your affection or appreciation for your parents, family, friends or relatives and many would counter that celebrating New Year is what everyone does.
But what everyone fails to understand or rather willingly ignores is that no matter what reason you might employ to celebrate these days, it does not alter the fact that these are Non-Muslim celebrations and therefore prohibited. You might hear people reasoning that where is the harm in spreading some joy? Simple my friends, that Islaam forbids all Muslims to follow in the path of Christians or Jews. And it's not something to be taken easily. There are several "Ayaahs" in the Quraan that declare the consequences of following in the path of sinners, some of which are mentioned below;
"And O' Prophet (SAW) if, after the arrival of The Knowledge (Revelation), you will pursue the desires of the disbelievers (Non-Muslims), then there shall be no one to save you from His wrath." (Surah Al-Baqra, V: 120).
"And (O' Believers) if you will follow in their (Non-Believers) footsteps then no doubt, you will also be counted amongst them." (Surah Al-An'aam, V: 121).
Let's take a look at ourselves after reviewing these reviewing these quotations of The Holy Quraan. Aren't we relishing in the festivities of the Valentine's Day, New Year, Christmas, Basant and many other Non-Islaamic and depraved celebrations like these? Should we, the Muslims, be pursuing the wicked and sinful path of the Non-Muslims even after Allah the most Superior's dire warnings? Do we see them imitating our celebrations? Should we even be considered Muslims anymore? Because The Quraan clearly excludes every person from the circle of Islaam who follows in the path of the Non-Muslims in any way!
I am aware of the fact that some might consider this article way too fear-provoking and the work of some extremely narrow-minded person. But think again my friends, for this is not something to be taken lightly. If you really are a true Muslim and in support of this article, then I would request you to please forward it to others in the hope of spreading awareness of Islaamic morals in this so-called Muslim society. If you consider this junk and delete it, the responsibility will be yours because Allah clearly asserts in the Noble Quraan that if you turn your back after learning the true knowledge from The Quraan, then there will be not a soul to save you from the consequences of your actions!
May Allah bless us all, Ameen!
