English Translation of Al-Quran
[24].Surah An-Nur [The Light]
Ayat 22. And let not those among you who are blessed with graces and wealth swear not to give (any sort of help) to their kinsmen, Al-Masakin (the poor), and those who left their homes for Allah's Cause. Let them pardon and forgive. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
[Tafseer] of ayat 22, The immediate reference was to Hazrat Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him), the father of Hazrat Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her). He was blessed both with spiritual grace from Allah and with ample means, which he always used in the service of Islam and of Muslims. One of the slanderers of Hazrat Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) turned out to be Hazrat Mistah (May Allah be pleased with him), a cousin of Hazrat Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him), whom he had been in the habit of supporting. Naturally Hazrat Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him)wished to stop that aid, but according to the highest standards of Muslim ethics he was asked to forgive and forget, which he did, with the happiest results to the peace and unity of the Muslim community. But he general application holds good for all time. A generous patron should not, in personal anger, withdraw his support even for serious faults if the delinquent repents and mends his ways. If Allah forgives us, who are we to refuse forgiveness to our fellows?
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah 
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "When any one of you is observing Saum (fasting) on a day, he should neither indulge in obscene language nor should he raise the voice; and if anyone reviles him or tries to quarrel with him he should say: `I am observing fast.''' [Al-Bukhari Book 03, Chapter 31, Hadith # 118].
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah An-Nur Ayat 22."Let them pardon and forgive." We learn from it that during Saum not only food, drink and husband and wife closeness are prohibited but the improper use of the tongue and the other organs of the body as well. When one is observing Saum, he should neither use abusive language nor talk foolishly nor tell lies nor make obscene conversation nor indulge in backbiting nor quarrel with anyone. If someone provokes him, he should keep himself quiet and remember that he is observing Saum and he has to abstain from such things. As far as possible, he should keep his tongue engaged in the remembrance of Allah and recitation of the Qur'an. .
