Assignments will be announced and uploaded on VULMS. You can prepare the assignments from video lectures, handouts, and lecture slides. You can find the new assignments in the "Assignment" icon of your course. You can submit your assignment solution through VULMS. 

Example: 
You can upload your assignment solution in CS101 by following steps: 
CS101->Assignments->Submit->Brows->Select your solution file->Ok->Submit 
After following the above steps, you can submit your assignment solution. 

Important Instructions:

Please read the following instructions carefully before solving & submitting assignment:

Assignment should be in your own wordings not copied from internet, handouts or books.

It should be clear that your assignment will not get any credit (zero marks) if:

 

  • The assignment is submitted after due date.
  • The submitted assignment does not open or file is corrupt.
  • The assignment is copied (from other student or copied from handouts or internet).
  • Student ID is not mentioned in the assignment file or name of file is other than student ID.

 How to prepare and attempt VU Online Quiz....?

VU Online Quizzes will be announced and uploaded on VULMS. You can prepare the VU Online Quiz from video lectures, handouts, and lecture slides. You can find the new VU Online Quiz in the "Quizzes" icon of your course. You must disable the Popup Blocker in your internet browser before clicking on "Take Quiz". By clicking on take quiz button you will see a popup window opened. You can start your quiz by clicking on start button. I suggest you to open VU Online quiz in internet explorer web browser. Other web browser creates problems.

You can attempt VU Online Quiz through VULMS.

Example: 
You can take quiz in CS101 by following steps: 
CS101->Quizzes->Take Quiz->Brows->A popup window opened ->Start->Submit 
after following the above steps, you can take quiz of your subject

Follow the below mentioned guidelines regarding Online Quiz...

  1. There will be at least 24 hours given for solving each Quiz....
  2. There will be 10 to 20 MCQs in each Quiz.
  3. Each MCQ will have 1 mark.
  4. You will be given 90 sec to select the correct option and submitting for next MCQ.
  5. You must have to select and submit the one option; otherwise you will lose marks in case of timeout.
  6. You can't backward and forward. Its automatically start new quiz when you select and save.
  7. Don't do it in parts...otherwise you will lose some question...
  8. In case of power breakdown during the Quiz then you can continue your quiz after return of power.
  9. You have to complete the quiz before the 11:59 pm on last date of Quiz

What is GDB? How to prepare and submit GDB?

GDB stands for Graded Discussion Board. Instructor gives a topic for discussion. GDB has weight-age of 5% of your total subject marks. Discussion must be based on logical facts.

 Guidelines for Preparation:

Use your own wordings Read the instructions carefully before sending your comments. For acquiring the relevant knowledge, do not rely only on handouts but watch the course video lectures, read handouts and also use other reference books.

You can post VU Online GDB (for Graded Discussion Board) answer through VULMS.

Example: 
You can post answer in CS101 by following steps: 
CS101->GDB->View->Brows->A page will open you can see GDB question ->Post Message->Submit 
after following the above steps, you can post answer of your GDB

 

Important Instructions:

  1. The GDB will remain open for 120 hours
  2. The GDB will open and close at above specified date and time. Please note that no grace day and extra time will be given for posting comments on GDB.
  3. You should post your answer on the Graded Discussion Board (GDB), not on the Moderated Discussion Board (MDB). Both will run parallel to each other during the time specified above.  Therefore, due care will be needed.
  4. You cannot participate in the discussion after the due date.
  5. For planning your semester activities in an organized manner, you are advised to view schedule of upcoming Assignments, Quizzes and GDB in the overview tab of the course website on VU-LMS.
  6. Questions / queries related to the content of the GDB, which may be posted by the students on MDB or via e-mail, will not be replied till the due date of the GDB is over.
  7. Your comments should be relevant to the topic i.e. clear and concise (Maximum 5-7 lines answer).
  8.  Books, websites and other reading material may be consulted before posting your comments. (Do not copy the material as it is.)
  9. No extra time will be given for discussion.
  10. You cannot participate in the discussion after the due date or through e-mail.
