Jesus teaches: Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:7-8)

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:9-12)

O People! Love thy Neighbor is a Christian Value, Hate and Stereotyping aren't!

In light of these clear teachings we urge the Christians to reflect upon the peaceful message of Jesus (peace be upon him) which is clearly a message of peace, not hatred. No believing Christian can condone hate speech against others.

In addition to describing this attribute we find that even the Holy Quran also says the same about Christians:

"And thou shalt assuredly find those who say, 'We are Christians,' to be the nearest of them in love to the believers. That is because amongst them are savants and monks and because they are not proud." (Al Quran 5:83)

So, the scripture of Islam wants to inculcate love not only among the believers but also between peoples of different faiths, especially the Muslims and the Christians.

The Muslim Times is promoting universal brotherhood and sisterhood in a world, which is divided by nationalism, religion, race, social class, gender and last but not the least, obfuscation created by illegitimate use of reductionism of science, taking away a wholesome understanding.

It is bringing out the urgently needed Separation of Mosque-Church and State in every country of our Global Village.

Terrorism does not rise from the teachings of Islam or any other faith but from the darkest corners of human heart fueled by a variety of emotions such as greed, resentment, anger, hatred, ignorance and prejudice.

Peace makers and mischief makers are in every religion – they are like two sides of a same coin.

Mutual suspicion exists between Muslims & Other religions – this suspicion, prejudices, intolerance, and mistrust are driving us apart... So it is very important for us to focus on some constructive debate. This debate today is dominated by radicals on both sides who want to preach hatred and spread fear among people or worse still it's used by some demagogues for personal profits and so now there's a very fragile hope left of success towards universal brotherhood, peace, unity and on the whole humanity. So what's really important now is to make the debate dominated by well-informed people who really care about humanity.

It's not Muslims against Any Religion…!
It's not East against West…!
It is extremists on all sides against moderates on all sides.

This should actually be the platform then we can get rid of the evils of the society - we have to keep praying and trying until we come to a peaceful solution.

Our different ethnic and national backgrounds establish our identity, not superiority.

Now, more than ever before, as we are living in a global village, we need an honest and free dialogue and debate about limits of free speech. Let the Discussions Begin! I have the pleasure to start the discussion with a verse of the Holy Quran:

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Ever Merciful

Feeding on our faults and fears, let us not split, but...
It is time we stand united.
It is time we break down the barriers by dialogue…

"No Peace without dialogue among religions." …absolutely true.

Peaceful cooperation towards peace, that's the key. People of all faiths, let's focus on what unites us: It is time now that people of different faiths and cultures come together to build bridges of respect and peace.

Peace in society is a two-way process and can only be established if all parties work together towards mutual reconciliation. Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.

I send a message to the entire world, that the message and teachings of Islam are of love, compassion, kindness and peace. Islam categorically rejects and condemns every form of terrorism. As a Muslim, I shall make it absolutely clear that Islam does not permit cruelty or oppression in any way, shape or form. This is an injunction that is absolute and without exception. It does not provide any cover or justification for any act of violence, be it committed by an individual, a group or a government.

Respecting the feelings and sentiments of each other is a noble virtue. The basic ethics, morals, principles and decency are the assets of human beings. The ancient yet most humane morals unique to the human community, like kindness, truthfulness, tolerance, humility, patience... And every religion of the world – be it Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, or Judaism – they all teach, promote and highly recommend these noble virtues and ethics.

These values guarantee the promotion of love, harmony, tolerance, respect and brotherhood in the society, which will ultimately result in a serene, tranquil, secure and peaceful environment.

It's time we defend humanity irrespective of religious barriers
