پھُل کھِلےہیں گلشن گلشن۔۔۔۔۔۔لیکن اپنا اپنا دامن
عشق ہے پیارے کھیل نہیں ہے۔۔عشق ہے پیارے شیشہ آہن

خیر مجاز حسن کی یا رب۔۔۔۔تیز بہت ہے دل کی دھڑکن
آکہ نجانے تجھ بن کب سے ۔۔۔۔۔۔روح ہےلاشہ جسم ہے مدفن

آج نہ جانے راز یہ کیا ہے۔۔۔۔۔ہجر کی رات اور اتنی روشن
عمریں بیتیں صدیاں گزری۔۔۔۔ہے وہی اب تک عقل کا بچپن

تجھ سا حسیں اور خنِ محبت۔۔۔۔وہم ہے شاید سرخی دامن

توُ نے سُلجھ کر گیسوےء جانا۔۔۔۔اور برھادی شوق کی اُلجھن
رحمت ہوگی طالِب عصیاں۔۔۔۔رشک کرےگی پاکِ دامن

دل کہ مجسّم آینہ ساماں۔۔۔۔۔اور وہ ظالم آینہ دُشمن
بیٹھے ہم ہر بزم میں لیکن۔۔۔۔۔۔۔جھاڑ کے اُتٹھے اپنا دامن

ہستی شاعر اللّہ اللّہ۔۔۔۔۔حُسن کی منزل عشق کا دُشمن
رنگیں فطرت سادہ طبیعت۔۔۔فرش نشیں اور عرش دُشمن

کام ادھورا اور آزادی۔۔۔نام بڑے اور تھورے درشن
شمع ہے لِکن دھوند لی دھوند لی۔۔۔۔سایہ ہے لِکن روشن روشن
